I was sold a 5 year extended warranty for a plasma tv I bought 5 years ago with the selling point that you get 50% back if unused. They forgot to mention that you must bring receipt back within 90 days of experation of warranty and will not honor 50% back as promised if after 90 days!! This is deceptive and done as a money maker for this company. I was then treated poorly by store manager and customer service when I asked to speak to someone on this. I will never shop at this chain again and strongly suggest everyone else stays away from them. 128f321

:( I made the mistake of buying a Plasma 60" 3D TV from ABC Warehouse. I bought it on 1-30-12 and did not take it out of the box until 2-10-12 Less than 30 days. I set it up for no more than 1 hour. My wife an I agreeded it was not the TV we wanted. It was too big for the room and we made a mistake purchasing the 3D. We set our old TV back up. I put it back in the box and called the Troy, MI store manager who sold me the TV and asked if I could return for a refund. He said he would not take the TV back or refund my money. He said he has no use for the TV and that I am stuck with it. What can we do ? Now we have a $2200.00 TV we don't want. Not a good experience. If there is a law against this please let me know.

OMG you have to save a piece of paper in order to get money back on a warranty!!! What a crock!

I mean people tell me all the time, "Hey, you're *** for burning your W2 forms," and, "why are you shredding your driver's license and social security card, are you wetarded?!"

To them I say, these things are paper and proof of nothing. People and computers should simply be able to read my mind to prove my identity and whatnot.

Right on bro!!! DUURRRRRRR!

I purchased a 60" plasma @ the Traverse City store and purchased the 5 year extended warranty at the same time. The manager whom I purchased it from told me about getting your money back in 5 years, but neglected to mention in store credit portion. They are deceiving customers!

I worked for abc warehouse for 10 years and recently retired.

Their is nothing deceptive about extended warrenties. The

Store where i was employed, gaylord, michigan stressed the

Importance of informing customers of the need to i form

Customers that they needed to keep the yellow receipt

And of the 90 day grace period.

For my customers,i told them the requirements twice before

They left the store to avoid a problem in the future.

I had very few problems in the time i was employed there

Relating to warrenty. In addition the warrenty requirements are

Spelled out on the receipt it self.

If you choose not to listen while the requirements are told to

You, then the fault is with you.take responsibility for your own

Actions, and keep track of the warrenty expiration date.

I had the same thing and I almost forgot but didn't. It's not that they don't point it out, it's that after 5 years you generally don't remember. Nothing deceptive in my opinion. 5 years is a long time. They give you 90 days (3 months) to get reimbursed. Most places don't even offer any money back on their warranties so I really don't get your complaint.
